Unified Wine & Grape Symposium

Up and Adam yesterday morning….off to the Sacramento Convention Center for the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium.  Last year was challenging for all of us in every industry in every city and every state. Walking around the convention center I quickly discover it is still on the minds of everyone in the wine industry; from supplies to vintners, winemakers to marketing. I understand a wee bit more the challenges this particular industry faces but also see many opportunities. The Symposium is organized by the American Society for Enology and Viticulture and the California Association of Winegrape Growers and showcased hundreds of exhibiting companies as well as offered work shop sessions from vineyard practices, social media, tasting room skills, winery analysis, oaks impact on wine, varietal focus and the list goes on but let’s not forget the most important part….the wine tasting and the parties afterwards! After a full day on my feet meeting and greeting running into people tweeting and updating we headed a few blocks down to Mikuni , a sushi restaurant. We head upstairs for the Tempranillo wine tasting complete with every type of sushi one could want. After my second, third and fourth wind passed by it was time to get on the road back to Healdsburg……..ahhhh rest!
