Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz $14.99

With a name like Jip Jip Rocks and a screw top how can I not give this a try! Five generations of winemaking in South Australia, the Bryson Family strives to produce the best wine possible from their estate vineyards in the Padthaway valley. The grapes extending life on the vines produce fully ripe fruit creating richer, easy to drink wines.

Jip Jip Rocks makes five varietals, a Shiraz, Shiraz Cab, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and a Sparking Shiraz. The one we are tasting today is the Shiraz. I find the texture and structure amazingly good for a wine at this price; rich in plums and blackberry, smoother tannins and lightly spicy hot finish. Big in flavor and well structured I have had this wine time and time again. I like bold wines so this is a good sipping wine for me, but others may enjoy this better paired with food.

Cheers!
